Privacy Policy
What PreConstruct collects, how we use it, who sees it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

Who this covers
This Privacy Policy explains what PreConstruct collects, why, and your choices. It covers users of the application, subcontractors who use the planroom portal, and visitors to preconstruct.ai. It does not cover our customers’ own practices.
What we collect
Account information: name, work email, company, role, login records. Customer content: the documents, scope, bid, proposal and contact data your company uploads or creates. Subcontractor information: contact details and responses shared through the planroom. Usage and technical data: pages used, actions taken, device and browser type, IP address, error logs. Communications: emails you send us and support requests. We do not collect payment card numbers ourselves; card payments, when offered, are handled by our payment processor.
How we use it
To provide and secure the service; to run AI features on the content you ask us to process; to send transactional email (invites, planroom notices, password resets, billing); to support you; to measure and improve the product; and to meet legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and we do not use your content for advertising.
Improving the product with de-identified insights
We learn from patterns, not from your data as such: how scope items are grouped, corrected and priced in aggregate across customers, so extraction, suggestions and the AI assistant get better for everyone. Company, project and personal identifiers are removed first and results are aggregated. Your documents, prices, bidders and people are never shown to another company. Our AI providers are contractually barred from training on the inputs we send them.
Sharing
We share personal information only with: the subcontractors and users your company chooses to invite; service providers who host and run the platform for us (cloud hosting, database, file storage, email delivery, error monitoring, AI model providers), each bound by contract to use it only for us; and authorities when the law requires. If PreConstruct is acquired, information may transfer to the successor under this policy.
Cookies and analytics
The application uses cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure. The marketing site does not use advertising trackers. If we add analytics, they will be privacy-respecting and described here.
Retention
We keep account and customer content for as long as your company has an account, and afterwards until your company asks us to delete it — we do not delete customer data because a subscription lapses. Backups roll off on a fixed schedule. Log data is kept for a limited period for security and debugging.
Your rights and choices
You can access, correct and export your company’s data from within the application. Individuals may ask us to access, correct or delete their personal information, or object to certain processing, by emailing contact@preconstruct.ai; we will respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity. Subcontractors can unsubscribe from planroom emails using the link in each message. Depending on where you live (for example California or the EU/UK), you may have additional rights, which we honor.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, isolated per company, protected by role-based access and audit logs. See our Security page for detail. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you and, where required, regulators without undue delay.
International transfers and children
We are based in the United States and process data there. Where data comes from other regions, we use recognized safeguards for the transfer. The service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16.
Changes and contact
