Bid levelingComparing subcontractor bids on the same scope so the numbers mean the same thing before you pick one.
Scope takeoffReading a plan set and spec book and writing out every item of work, usually organized by CSI division.
BuyoutTurning the scope you estimated into signed subcontracts and purchase orders after the job is won.
Bid packageThe set of drawings, specs, and instructions a general contractor sends a subcontractor to price a defined scope.
PlanroomThe place a general contractor publishes bid documents and tracks who has picked them up.
CSI divisionsThe MasterFormat numbering system that organizes construction work into numbered divisions like 03 Concrete and 26 Electrical.
