Bid package
The set of drawings, specs, and instructions a general contractor sends a subcontractor to price a defined scope.

A bid package (or invitation to bid) bundles what a subcontractor needs to price their part of a job: the relevant sheets and spec sections, the scope they are being asked to cover, the due date, and how to respond. A general contractor typically sends one package per trade, to several subs each.
What a good package includes
- The scope, written out, so exclusions are obvious.
- Only the documents that matter to that trade.
- A due date and a reply contact.
- A way to say yes, no, or maybe — so you know who is actually bidding.
